Optical mechanical equipment for the study of dynamic fracture parameters in constructive materials

The optical mechanical equipment based on a combination of standard tension testing machines and laser interferometric facilities allows one an investigation of dynamic wave characteristics of the fracture initiated by the quasi-static loading in both natural and building materials.

The measurement of the parameters of wave process, which was initiated by the quasi-static loading, allows one the definition of characteristics of dynamic strength and crack resistance in materials. These dynamic parameters can be utilized to predict material performance under impact explosion influence.

Thus, based on the designed methods, the structural-temporal fracture parameters can be measured even in quasi-static tests in “industrial” laboratory conditions.
